We asked people with learning disabilities these questions:

Why we set up Both Ways

Did you choose where you live?
Did you choose who you live with?
Most people said NO!!!
They told us:
“I moved into a house with 3 other people who I did not know. I hate it. It’s not fair.”
“I live with people who I do not get on with. I would like to live with my friend.”
“I moved into my place and was really excited to begin with. Then it was just a big shock. I did not know what to expect. I was so lonely. I was all on my own.”
“I moved into my flat. It’s alright. I would have liked to share with someone but I didn’t know anyone who I could share with.”
“I had to move really quickly as things weren’t too great at home. I wanted to share
with someone as I did not want to be on my own at night -
stop, stop, stop
This is why we set up Both Ways. Lots of us live with people we don’t choose to live
with and we want it to
This means if yyou:
are homeless
have a learning disability
have a mental health issue
have experienced domestic violence
are a young person
are an older person
AND if you would like to share a house, flat or bungalow with someone in Worcestershire, then Both Ways IS FOR YOU!!
